Depression in Men: A Common Problem You should Not Make Light of
Although it is not always easy to recognize depression in men since they tend to conceal their problems because men hate to look weak in any way, there are few common signs that can help you know it better. Basically, depression can be categorized as a mental condition that can affect men of almost any age. This common problem is known to us more as being moody. But actually, depression is much more serious than that. It is a long-term condition that has enough potential to influence a person's day-to-day life in a dramatically negative way. - Unusual amounts of stress can often lead to depression. Divorces and separations, financial issues and problems at work are common reasons for men to undergo a lot of stress resulting in depression.
- According to a study, around 5% of men that suffer from one or other physical illnesses are more liable to develop clinical depression.
Depression can occur at any stage of your life without any previous warnings. And if you have ever experienced this condition before, there are chances that you are at a greater risk of having another serious attack.
Common symptoms of depression include:
- You feel tired and listless a lot.
- You are easily irritated.
- Your sleeping patterns change.
- It becomes difficult for you to take clear decisions.
- You have to push yourself to do even the simplest of tasks.
